Alt-berg is a traditional Yorkshire bootmaker based in Richmond, manufacturing walking, military, police, motorcycle and country boots in the UK and Italy.

Our boots have been used in some of the harshest conditions on the planet - from the tough mountain terrain of the Himalaya to the arid deserts of the middle east. Alt-berg boots are engineered for performance and durability across a wide range of conditions.

We offer a specialist boot fitting service from our factory shop with a range of lasts to suit various foot shapes and 5 width fittings in UK full and half sizes from 3, to 14,

We also carry ranges of footwear from other brands, as well as Paramo clothing and specialist footbeds.

If you have a history of fitting issues, and believe you may need custom fitting, we do suggest making an appointment before visiting.
